Miyazaki did not direct every Ghibli film. Several of those characters have nothing to do with him.

C'mon people, actually bother to learn anything about the things you like.

San for me. Princess Mononoke was the first Miyazaki film I've seen, back when DVDs made their debut. I loved her then, and I still love her now.

actually, i never said anything about direction...
the title is clear, "Miyazaki's Heroines". either directed by him, or written by, or even a sketch, he was involved in those movies, therefore, all these female characters are a part of him.
as an example, Arrietty was not directed by Miyazaki-san, the film takes the work of an English children’s book, but he conceived the project and wrote the script.
